We have four users who've been bumped out of course in which they were enrolled, all in the same course, all have non-zero values in both timestart and timeend fields of user_students. Last info I got on these fields was they were not being used at present but were for future use. Does anyone have an idea of what might be taking place here? The student unenroll variable is set to off. The instructor believes all have been manually enrolled by him (all other students were imported).

You had an "enrollment period" set in those course settings. Students enrolling at that time had these fields filled in.
