Okay, so I have my repository working properly, I can see the files that I've uploaded, but when I select the file I want and click the "select this file" button, nothing happens!
I've checked my moodledata folder for all the right permissions etc... I have all the right multimedia plugins turned on.... I'm using the "moodle media" button in the tool bar to get to my repository.... I don't know what else I should be looking at this time.
Here's a picture of what I'm seeing when I open the file picker..... when I click "Select this file" nothing happens. No error mesages, nothing.
Sorry Kate, I missed this post when it came through. How are you getting on? File picker is working OK for me.
I would have asked: what is the "Video" repository? Is it a folder in moodledata, ie a file system repository?
And: does Upload files/Recent files (etc) work?
It is not you.
File picker was a well intentioned idea, gone very bad. It likely will be a long time before someone "discovers" file picker is horrible and is ruining the great Moodle brand.
I love Moodle, but, I decided to stick with my beloved and proven 1.9
I totally agree What a stupid system
It makes absolutely no sense
Sorry you are having this trouble. I'm using the file picker daily and it works OK for me so maybe I can help you out.
Are you getting any kind of processing animation when you click the "Select this file" button?
What kind of web browser are you using? I had difficulty with IE so I switched to Firefox and things worked better for me there.
What build version of Moodle 2 are you currently on?
Yes, this is extremely annoying. I have not searched for whether there is a bug for this, but if there is, please vote it up.
Kate, rather than get frustrated, please help us to improve this product by discussing what works and what doesn't. The file picker is still new, but it does hold within some great leaps forward. If we can fix the bugs and then smooth the UX, it will be great.
