I'm in the process of moving a Moodle 220.127.116.11 from shared hosting to a VPS. I am trying to test the moodle in the new location before going live by changing the name servers, so I am using a temporary URL to access the moodle on the VPS.
I have found that viewing the scorm resources within the moodle on the VPS are all returning Sorry, the requested file could not be found errors. I have tried using the databse replace script to change any instances of the old url in the database to the temporary url and also amending the file permissions for the files in the moodledata directory, to no avail.
If I edit an exiting link to a scorm resource in the course, I can select the existing scorm zip files (so the moodledata directory seems to be recognised). When saved the link to the scorm resource still returns the requested file not found error.
However if I add a new scorm resource to the course and link it to the same scorm zip file, the new scorm resource link will work. I have had a look at the related data base entries for the working and non working scorm resources and I can't see what is causing the old links to not work, while the new link works.
Perhaps these problems will go away when the name servers are switched? I'm just nervous to do this having not been able to confirm that the moodle in the new location is going to work.
Can any one explain why I see this problem and tell me if I need to worry about this before going live?
