How does feedback behave when migrating to 2.x?

How does feedback behave when migrating to 2.x?

Hello;

I'm installing Feedback now on 1.9.6, and I have some concerns about what will happen when we eventually migrate to 2.x. I expect there's some documentation somewhere, but I've failed to find it, so here are my questions:

  • Is the module I'm installing on 1.9.6 the same version that comes by default with 2.x?
  • Can the migration be made without losing the data from saved surveys?
  • Do I have to uninstall the module before migrating, as 2.x has it in its core? Or do I need to uninstall it after migrating?
  • Should I expect any problems with the 2.x Feedback module? Will the old surveys still work or will I need to create them again?

Thanks a lot!

Hi David,

the feedback module included in moodle 2.x is a directly upgrade from the contrib feedback module in 1.9.

That means that you will not loose any data or settings after your upgrade.

Best regards
Andreas

Hi Andreas;

I take it, then, that no installing or uninstalling needs to be done (apart from the general upgrading of the Moodle version). Thanks for your kind answer.

Greetings,
