if you have a router between the user and the moodle server, you will need a port that directs them to the moodle server. you should be able to configure your router (a linksys router for a T-1 is probably not the best choice, you may want to spend a little more on a more robust router).

anyway, the linksys web management interface will let you assign a port, and then point that port to the ip address of the web server. if the moodle server is your only web server, port 80 would be the right choice. that way, when people type http://yourdomain.com into their web browser, they will first hit your linksys router, and since http traffic is on port 80, the linksys router will forward them to your moodle server.

does that make sense?
