True/False question with short answer component

Hello, 

I am putting together a quiz and I would like it to contain some true/false questions.  I have set these up using the true/false question type.  I am wondering if there is a way to require a student to provide a short answer response if they have selected "false" as the answer to a particular question.  Any ideas of how to achieve this? 

To give you an idea if what we are trying to achieve, the instructions would read something like: 

"Please select either true or false for each of the following questions.  If you choose "false", please provide an example of how the sentence should appear."

You can use cloze questions, such that each question consists of a MC (multichoice) element for the true/false and a SA (shortanswer) element for the short answer. The only problem is that the SA is automatically marked, while your scenario seems to require manual marking. But then again, you can hide the quiz scores until you go over the short answers and mark them. hth smile
