I spent this evening (4 hours) trying to create a Moodle 1.9.x block that would
alert the user as to how many Stamps he or she has earned.
My motivation for this work is to enable a feel-good factor among my students
and to multiply the effect of positive feedback via the Stamp Collection module
that is David Mudrak's most excellent creation*.
A student can glance at the block and receive an instant visual cue as to how
many stamps have been earned. Also, if the student does a mouseover, he or
she will be greeted by a tooltip description of the stamp (what, who, when).
I'll be sharing how I achieved this on my blog very soon, with full code and instructions.
The code, I must emphasise, is almost all David's work that I have adapted. Throw in an
iframe tag, some HTML, php and some tricks, vola!
In lieu of an actual Moodle block from either David or some other talented PHP programmer/developer, I'm curious to know how many Moodle adminstrators and
teachers would be interested to use this "My Stamps" pseudo-block in tandem
with their Stamp Collection module.
