Moodle 1.9.6
I am sure that in the past my students could simply open attachments sent via the News forum in their email applications, without having to log in to Moodle to read them. However, recently if they are not already logged in to Moodle, they have to log in and navigate to the News forum to be able to read the attachment. this is very annoying, and means many of my students don't bother to go to the trouble of logging in.
What should be the 'normal' behavior in 1.9 regarding how News forum attachments are handled? Do students really have to be already logged int Moodle to be able to read attachments from within their mail applications?
