Simple search on list view

Simple search on list view

I noticed if I login to my database activity, go to the list view, and type a word into the simple search box...for example "car", and click the "update settings" button.........the page simply reloads and doesn't show any results.

Is this the default behavior?

If I open my advanced search and type keywords into my field boxes, then the search DOES show results.

So I'm wondering what the difference is here......I'm using Moodle 2.1.1.

Thanks again for all the help in this forum. It is invaluable to my development!

Assuming there are entries with the word 'car' in them they should be found and displayed. smile

so many years later, I have the same problem. It appears that Simple Search is broken.  The "Sort by" control has been hijacked to mean "Which field do you want to search".  It's essentially a one-field Advanced Search, with a mislabeled widget.  This isn't the expected behavior.
