[...] I've just set-up a q'aire in 2.2, like I have done hundreds of times before in 1.9 and used a rank question replacing numbers for phrases. When you try to dubmit an error message comes up saying 'there's something wrong with this question'. It just doesn't tell me what.

Please provide the exact text of that rate question which triggers an error so we can understand the problem.

I just tried this with the latest version of questionnaire for Moodle 2.2, and it appears to be fine. Can you provide the exact details of the question you added? Also, the exact error message that comes up with debugging turned on?
