I've beent trying to get my head around how Moodle 2.2 handles role assignment and the whole enrolment process as I'm quite new to managing our Moodle environment.
I've been transfering the courses via backup and restore from 1.9 to 2.2 but removing all user data and enrolled users and this has worked quite well (since both staff and student have moved on to different courses).
Now in Moodle 2 at first I couldn't find a way to assign roles (for Teachers) to a course. I have since been able to do so by turning on the Manual Enrolments feature and manually moving users into the teacher role. This is different from 1.9 since you were given the entire Moodle user list where as now they need to be enrolled into the course before I can assign them as a teacher.
Can anyone confirm that this is the process that they need to be manually enrolled and then assigned? There isn't an assign roles with the global user list like 1.9?
