Mark, frankly, I don't know how to use your response. Scripts, certificate_linked_modules table, linkid is set to -1; I don't know these terms or how incorporated them.
What I do know is that previously I could set a minimum number of minutes a student needed to be in the course. This was solid, reliable and varifiable for the course evaluators that I must satisfy.
The conditional activities are linked to Allow access dates and grade conditions and those are ok for some situations. What about database entries, completely watching a video, visiting and reading a web page, or completeing a form, these are some activities that could be conditional to successfully completing a course too. Perhaps if some of these activities were part of the conditional activites, I could manage the students progression through the course better.
I'm sorry, but I can't see how conditional activites can replace the minimum number of minutes setting that was deleted in Moodle 2.0 for my particular distance learning courses. These courses are regulated activities with requirements set in law and regulation. Its not uncommon to have credit or certificate requirements based on a time standard along with the curriculum requirement. Our college courses are set to 50 minutes per class. Our high school classes are set to be 45 minutes long, and in each case a student must attend a minumum number of classes to get credit. I can't change the environment in which I teach. I am hoping that this function can be added or a replacement for it found.
What do think?
