Hi,
You don't need this feature as it is already there.
Under Book Adminstration go to Permission and remove all except Teacher (and Manager) from the Print this Book Capabilities.
To check this log on as a user to see the Print option is no longer there.
The Idea is to remove capabilities of a group and a user/s belog to that group.
