Good morningI want to report and error... or something like an error... I'm using and quizport and after having solved some initial problems it is working fine... I'm very happy with them... but a couple of days ago a student complained to me because she did an exercise and sent it and she got a 0... I've checked it and, actually, she has a 0 but if I go to the results page inside the quizport I can see all her answers and she has all of them right (check=1) except for one mistake (check 2)... how can she get a 0? This activity has worked fine for some other students... that's why I don't understand the problem... (it's a jmatch activity)... Thanks for your help!
Can she reproduce the problem? Can you reproduce the problem? Is it just this student? Just this quiz? Just that computer? What kind of testing have you done to try and isolate what could be going on? Have you sat and watched this student get a 0? Can you report exactly what she did?

I know what she did. She moved the top item, then pressed "check", then she moved the next item and then pressed "check", and so on. Every time she moved an item, she pressed check. The trouble is that every time she pressed "check" with some items not moved, the Hot Potatoes considers that the unmoved items are "wrong" and will reduce her score - slowly down to zero.
You need to explain to her how to do these JMix quizzes: move all the items first, then PRESS "check" ONCE.
you're right... OMG! It happened to some students with the JCloze, but then I noticed the problem and there they got a 5% minimum... I thought it could be the same problem here but I tried (without making a mistake) and I got a 10%... But I've just realized (after reading your post and revising the activity!) that the student made a mistake... and then, it is exactly as you've said! With a mistake you get a 0% if you "check" the activity after answering each item... so sorry for having annoyed you about that
