Forum permissions

Hello

Can anybody confirm whether those with tutor role should have editing rights in the 'permissions' area of a forum.  A tutor is trying to prohibit students starting a discussion in a standrad forum for general use and is unable to see any of the editing icons to enforce this.  As an administrator I can see the editing icons and enforce this.  We are currently using 2.0.5 and I cannot establish 100% whether tutor roles could do this in 2.0.3 (our previous version) or not!

If they are unable to edit this page I don't understand why they even have accessto the permissions page as it has no use to tutors if this is the case.  Please correct me if I am wrong or missing the point.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Yes I think they should be able to do that - have you tried on demo.moodle.net?

Thanks Mary.

We had to reinstate some of the tutors rights to allow/disallow students permissions etc.  I think it may have been something to do with the upgrade.  Thanks for responding.
