Hi Paige,

You can do better than just surveys. You can get DOM recordings of users' mouse movements on Moodle pages with web analytics software. I use this open source one: http://www.openwebanalytics.com/ but there are others. It also records all sorts of other useful usage data and produces graphs and charts, etc.

Surveys will also give you useful opinions. Have you tried the built-in Moodle surveys? Personally, I'd recommend setting up face-to-face interviews with college faculty and administrators to get a really good idea of the issues that they are facing. I've found this the most effective way of getting feedback from everyone.
