After a few research, I decided to answer my own question and share my findings with the community,
1) If you are using a standard module to achieve the same then try out "Online text assignment" activity. Create instances of this activity and then you can filter the entries of students by going into the "view all assignment". This will let you see the entries and add comments to it.
