LDAP working but email field is blank?

We presently use 1.9 with webanywhere MIS intergrator to bring in our students and group information.

The new users are appearing, but they email address is not being brought through from our AD when they log on, so they are taken to the Edit Profile page. Our students do not have rights to edit their profile, so they can not manually enter their email address, and as such they cannot log in.

"mail" is entered in the Email address field on LDAP Auth page, under the Data mapping section.

All our present users can log in, so it's clear LDAP is working.

I'm having the same issue - email field is being pulled up blank.

Can you please post your steps to a solution?
