Performance tuning Moodle on Windows/IIS with Output Caching

I was reading the Performance Tuning PHP Apps on Windows/IIS with Output Caching article on the MSDN website. It says that the content of a PHP page is cached so that it is served without executing the script that generates it. But considering the "dynamic" nature of Moodle and that many database calls are made on most Moodle screens, is Output Caching suitable for Moodle?

Has anybody here tried it?
