I set the top GB setting to "weighted Mean" and every category (HW/QZ, Exams, Participation) to "Simple Weighted Mean"-even if there is only going to be 1 entry- and then the GB calculations make sense. BUT I use numbers as grades, not letters. If using letters have you adjusted to your institution settings from the stock Moodle letter equivalents? Hope this helps
