Assigning a Role to Mulitple users

I have created a custom role for branch managers to be able to acees and update certain elements of their reporting staff's profiles.

I have 3120 of thes users. Is there any kind of batch role assignemnet that I can use, or do I have to do it one by one?

I have a similar question. I have a large numbre of students that are in one role, and I need to change all of them to a new role. I am looking for a quick way to reassign the whole group of them.

I believe flat file upload will do that for you. You need to know the role number in your moodle (i.e., students are Type 1; as you add roles, they get an ID number, which I'm pretty sure is their Type).

You'll also need to decide whether you want to UNenroll them from their current role. If so, you'll need to research how to do that (maybe via flat file? maybe via bulk user actions?)

Moodle docs are your friend. Be sure to read docs for your version!
