Wwhat happens when a user is assigned as a teacher of another user ? in the user profile

Hi
Looking at one user A profile at the roles tab i see we can assing another user (B) any role to the A user.
What this means and this works ?
For example if i assign to user B the teacher role to user A in what moment the user B will play as a teacher to user A ?
What is possible to do with this facilitie ?
