I'm new of moodle and i got a fresh install of moodle 2.1.1, i'm tryng to have it working with nginx and fast-cgi as web-server but i'm encountering the problem with 'file picker' that seems to work correctly until you try to download any uploaded file: it drop you on a 'no file found' page, i tryed with the trick reported on that thread whit no lucky...
this is what i found in nginx.access.log

did anyone solved yet this problem?
I'm also having problem with Course's pictures that are not been showed.
Any help will be appreciated.

I've seperated your question from the thread "Nginx + Moodle configuration tips" http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=157382 They are simply not the same! Your question may not even be performance related.
Any way, get the second problem, pics not displayed solved first. Your referer URL http://22.214.171.124/moodle/user/files.php looks suspicious to me. Check your $CFG->webroot setting. All these are explained in the docs, http://docs.moodle.org/20/en/Installing_Moodle for example.
