A month or so ago, the OU's Institute of Educational Technology orgainsed as series of three seminars where they invited three experienced practitioners from around the UK to come and talk about what makes effective computer-marked assessment.

I remember coming out of the first one and thinking "I wish I could share that with the people in the Moodle quiz forum."

Well the good news is that they were recorded, and are now on YouTube:

  1. Exploring eAssessment Design - Dr Helen Ashton, Heriot-Watt
  2. Understanding how to make interactive computer marked assessment questions more reliable and valid: An introduction to test psychometrics  - Lester Gilbert, University of Southampton
  3. From 'Trivial Pursuit' to 'Serious e-Assessment' - Authoring and Maintaining Quality Questions for Online Delivery  - Professor Don Mackenzie, Professional e-Assessement Serivces
