New to Moodle, I have just tried to install Moodle 2.1+ for Windows. It started OK and let me set up the admin but since then, whenever I try to login to http;//localhost/ I get an error messgae saying IE can't display page.
If I set the page to work offline I get the home page but as soon as I try to do anything it goes online and tells me it can't find the page.
My OS is Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit. Any help appreciated.
You are calling your site from 'localhost', which implies that you have the contents of the moodle folder in there, with an index.php file waiting to answer the call from the server.
Is this the case, or is there a folder called moodle, with all the relevant files in there?
Which ever is the case, does your config file reflect this? wwwroot=?
If you have the contents of the moodle folder in the web root, you should be calling your site using http://localhost/
If you have the moodle folder in the web root, you should be calling your site using http://localhost/moodle
Your answer was a bit technical for me to follow (I'm not that experienced with php of html).
Ther is a folder called server. The path is C:\Users\charlie. Within the server folder is a folder called moodle and the index.php file is in there.
I don't seem to have a config file. There are lost of files callconfig.php but most are associated with themes. There isn't one in the server ot moodle folder.
http://localhost works if I go offline but as soon as I try to access anything, the computer goes back online and reports 'Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage'
If I try any of these - http://localhost/moodle or http://127.0.0.1 or htt://127.0.0.1/moodle - the computer goes on line and I get the cannot display page message.
Have I unpacked moodle into the wrong place?
