1.9 Multiple choice/multiple answer no partial credit

1.9 Multiple choice/multiple answer no partial credit

We have a department that has many multiple choice quesions with multiple answers, but they don't want to give any credit for the answer unless the student selects all of the correct answers.

We tried setting the incorrect answers to -100%, and that worked somtimes,  although not when the students selected some correct answers (but not all of them) and no incorrect answers.  That still resulted in partial points instead of no points for that question.

Any suggestions on how to make multiple choice with multiple correct answers not give partial credit would be appreciated.

This is not possible with the standard multiple choice question type.  Try all-or-nothing multiple choice instead.  If you have a lot of multiple choice questions that you want to convert to all-or-nothing multiple choice, there's a quick export/import hack described in this thread (but be sure to adjust all the grades to 0/100 or unpredictable things will happen).

Thanks, this sounds like exactly what we need.  I've installed the new question type and will see if it makes our instructors happy.
