I wonder all the time why the only information presented anywhere where a file is shown in filepicker or directories is the filename. Usually I would like to see at least the filesize, and in listviews also a filetype-icon. That would seem easy to implement and a great step forward in usability...
The Iconview in the filepicker shows not enough of the filename and not the extension, while the listview shows the full name but not the Icon - a combination of both plus seeing the filesize in listview would be great.
Directory-view could present even more options and infos to the regular user to make it more usable...
