A recent example: I created http://docs.moodle.org/20/en/Git_FAQ for which there is of course no counterpart at http://docs.moodle.org/19/en/Git_FAQ
1) Should the new content just copy&pasted to the older docs (a maintenance nightmare)?
2) Should there be a #REDIRECT from the older docs to the new content? How is that accomplished across separate wikis?
3) Could there be a maintenance script which scans Moodle 2.0 docs for new content which might also be incorporated in Moodle 1.9 docs?
And what if I want to contribute to the existing Git documentation? Should I add to http://docs.moodle.org/19/en/Git or http://docs.moodle.org/20/en/Git? What about synchronizing both pages?
We should agree on a proper procedure for such cases to keep Moodle Docs consistent. Anyway, there seems to be quite a lot of manual maintenance necessary
A better way would be to use MediaWiki's transclusion mechanism, see http://docs.moodle.org/20/en/MoodleDocs:Transclusion
