i uploaded some powerpoint slides to resources. i dont want to open them, just download the file itself. how can i put this as the default option? i can't even download the file by right-clicking and choosing "save target as" option. when i do this i download the view.html file.
in the discussion topic below, the mentioned problem by venita is exactly what i want. smile

I'm not certain that it will solve your problem but try saving the PowerPoint slides as a PowerPoint show (.pps) rather than a PowerPoint presentation (.ppt).  This sorted out any issues we had with PowerPoint.

Hope it helps

We upload .ppt files all the time as resources.  When a student clicks on them, a dialog box always comes up asking if they want to save or open the file.  This dialog appears in both Win XP and 2000 and we are using IE 6.  If you are not getting this box, try adjusting the Internet Options security setting.  Ours are set on "Medium," which I believe is the default.
