typical magazine questions "what type of person are you" etc...

Hi,

being new at moodle, and still trying to read up on everything, I do have already a rather urgent question.

Is it possible (and more important, how) to create a quiz or survey like the typical magazine questionnaires/surveys.

which as a result do not tell you pass or fail, but depending on the total amount of points, tell you which type of person you are, which type of lover you are, which type of character you are etc...

So, something like a list of multiple choice questions, where each answer has a number of points, and the total of all your answers will "type" you

is it doable with the build-in features, or is there a module for, or ... ?

any feedback is welcomed

Thanks

Yes - try the Lesson module smile Because not only can you give points but you can send them to a different page according to how they answer _ Are you male>go to the blue page/are you female> go to the pink page etc etc

sounds already interesting

but I also was looking more for a list of questions, one after another, multiple choice, and then use the calculated points to determin

for some type of questions, the branching in the lessons module will be too complex to maintain

Yes. Use the Overall feedback on the quiz to display the different messages, and hide the grades using the Review settings.

These discussions may help (although you will find that there is no real solution for what you want in Moodle itself so far).

Question lists that total answers, then results have different meanings

Personality test

PS.- You may wish to follow suggestions to use the Lesson or the Quiz activities, but none of those will enable you to do the "personality test" kind of survey you want.

This would only work for result categories that could be arranged from greatest to least on a scoring spectrum with each category corresponding to a percentage range, but something could be done by presenting the results in pages that are available conditionally depending on the score on a quiz.
