Dear Mr. Bassam Sheikh
Nice to know that there are people in Pakistan, working on e-learning / online education with special interest in LMS-moodle. Recently about 15 participants have joined moodle course development at learn.moodle.net. This is also encouraging.
I am working at a medical university, which is its third year. The e-learning department is in infancy and we have just started understanding and using moodle. The faculty members, very few volunteers, are in a stage of training. Making a paperless environment in an institution is really an uphill task. People are reluctant to change from traditional environment of pen and paper to digital one. We plan to commence our e-learning project with an opening ceremony with some certificates and shields as a first incentive. This may strike other teachers to get involved for online education system. The struggle is on.
I am an orthopaedic surgeon and do have my private practice in evening. At the university I am involved in administration and management of e-learning. I have one colleague with me, who is an IT person with experience of development. We have started with this small team and now trying to get faculty members for this task.
