copying forum settings between weeks

Hello All,

This is both a specific question and a general question.  We have recently switched over to Moodle from Blackboard and I like virtually everything about Moodle when compared to BB.  One feature of BB that I did like was the ability to copy a discussion forum (either just the settings or the content) from one week to another.  Given the number of forums I have and the unique settings for them all, being able to copy a forum's settings from one week to the next would be a timesaver (as well as reduce the number of times I forget to throw this or that switch).

This is not a huge thing but I wonder if such capability exists?

Thanks for your time,

Roy C.

To make two instances of courses/forums/... with the same settings, create one, run a backup of the course and restore the backup. While restoring you get the ability to restore an activity/resource into the current or to a new course.

I will be curious how other reply because I think this feature is missing.

What I do is to open up two browser windows and tile them side by side.  Then I can recreate setting from one course into the new course.
