I want to have chargeable courses (should be a simple paypal candidate) with the alternative option for people to self-enrol with a non-editing role limited to 7 days.i.e.

1. self-registration, view course only, 7-day automatic expiry
2. pay money (whether already part-way through free period or on first visit) and access course with full student rights

I would have thought this was a really common scenario but can't find it in documentation or earlier posts. If I can achieve 1) and have to manually expire people that is acceptable.

If 'trial' people cannot easily click 'I want to pay' and gain full access then that would naturally be irritating.
