I am new to moodle and would like to thank Michael and all the others for the terrific work. There was, however, one additional function I urgently needed. It might help others to open up their moodle courses for guest access, thereby giving back some content to the internet community we all are profiting from so much.

Here is the five-step hack I used to extend the resource options:

Since a small extension of the mod_resource data structure is necessary, I would like to suggest this hack to be included in future moodle versions to make it easier for those of us who are not into changing data structures on the server.
