In our version of Moodle (1.9.4) I'm trying to consolidate some of our classes into one class instance so that there's less clutter for our participants and facilitators.
Basically we want to be able to assign facilitators to certain groups to be self-sufficient (such is the plan) for their own classes; the materials, discussions, etc. can be built upon from previous classes or concurrent classes.
One of the challenges I am running into is with groups and custom certificates. I would like to have quiz/assessments sorted by group (which seems to work fine) as well as certificates of completion (custom certificates) for those groups (which doesn't seem to work). The groups would be important in this case because I don't want our facilitators to have to sort through thousands of participants just to find the few who should be marked as completed ~ they ideally would just select their group and then go from there.
I did see this post: http://moodle.org/mod/forum/discuss.php?d=144375 which suggests that the problem has been fixed but it does not seem to be working in my version. What happens is the quizzes can be viewed by groups but the participants' certificates view looks the same as always.
