Heh, well I just went through my working php file and changed all the settings to the recommended ones (except cgi.force_redirect, which was unset in the recommended and set to 0 in the .ini). And it now all works. How odd! It does say that setting has to be turned off for IIS though, so i guess that could be the cause.
Anyway, all running nicely now.
