I just cerated a new certificate in a course and used all the same setting I always do. I rechecked the settings against two course certificates I know work and they are the same, but now after creating, I hit save and display...nothing, a blank white window. I am using the last version (not 2.0). Can anyone offer a solution?
I am having the same issue with Moodle 1.9.11. I need help!!
Since a few day's our certificate stopped showing in 'IE 8.06001.18702CO' in combination with 'Adove Acrobat X'.
A new window is opening up but stay's gray (error message 103:103)
Email (Must also choose save!)
Neighter of them work in this (only on IE 8.x and Acrobat X)
As an admin I can see the list and the click on a pdf wich then askes me to open or save it. Then it does open.
We use Moodle versie 1.9.7
It works fine in other browsers or IE 7.x
I would realy like some help, we have been looking for a clou in many places.
After writing this post I Googled 'Error 103:103'
Looks like a lot of systems and people have the same problem. It apears to be a bug in Adobe Acrobat X 10.01
The best post I read was: fixed it by updating to Reader 10.0.2
I could not try this myself, for I have to wait for the IT department to hopefully do this.
Like to know if updating to Adobe Reader 10.0.2 does fix the problem!
Using FireFox 3.6.21 (Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:220.127.116.11) Gecko/20110830 Firefox/3.6.21 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729))
With IE 8 we get a "website cannot display the page" message (HTTP 500 internal server error)
ISSUE: When I click on "review your certificate" and get a blank page; when my students meets the certificate requirement, and they clickon the certificate link, they get a blank screen. (the bottom left of the screen just says "done")
I looked into Adobe Reader 10.0.2 but there is not such an update for Windows.
Has anyone figured out a fixt to this?
I think this is the "Print Quiz" as the grade issue where the code needs tweaking. Try changing the settings to Print Grade for the Course? Did that work?
If your students now get the certificate, you will know it is a bug which was created when a version of certificate module was brought into the 2.x world. Of course, you as admin or teacher will see the certificate without a (Quiz) grade, because Quiz does not really record a grade for you. But you will see a certificate and your students will not.
Perhaps more than you wanted to know: in another thread, someone looked at the MySQL tables. They saw that while a record was created for in the "certificate_Issues" table, it had a "NULL" value in the reportgrade field. Evidently this upsets the PDF writer, so you get a blank pdf file.
nd yes I was bad and went into that record with PhpMyAdmin and tried to add some valid info. But it still did not work I also spent a couple of hours in etween mowing the lawn and collecting apples looking at the /certificate/lib.php code. Looking because all my little tweaks crashed the certificate module when I went in to create or edit a new one
Sorry I could not really help. Chris
Thanks Chris. By changing the Print Grade from Quiz to Couse as you suggested, it works! Now back to my one of my original problems (though not as pressing)....
When we first click on the "Get your certificate" button, we are taken to a new window with the following error message: "Coding error detected, it must be fixed by a programmer: invalid context specficied".
I think that this is an issue that others have posted about so I will do a little more digging. My current work around on this is to close the new window that the message appears in and re-click the "Get your Certificate" button at which time we now have success!
