Problem with Roles and Capabilities

Hi All,

We seem to have a problem with the Moodle site (1.9.7) I am an administrator of. In one of our courses, the course creators post's in the news forum cannot be seen by students, and when I click on the post (in the latest news block) - it gives me a page not found error. I (as administrator) and the other course creator can see the forum post, however when I change role to student, the post and all other previous ones are not there.

I have checked the forum module and there does not seem to be a problem, so I'm assuming it is some kind of problem with roles and capabilites.

I have looked through the docs but cannot find a solution.

Do you allow Timed Posts feature in your installation?

If yes, and if you are an admin, try clicking Edit link for one of the posts. Most probably you will see that Display start area has some date in the Display End.

You can adjust it there, or if there are a lot of them, override forum permissions and allow students to see timed hidden posts. smile
