Hello to all,

I followed the instructions to the letter regarding the install procedure for TortoiseCVS and I received the following error. Any suggestions or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

In C:\Documents and Settings\sk\My Documents\Websites\AZVS\azvs.org\azvs: "C:\Program Files\TortoiseCVS\cvs.exe" "-q" "checkout" "-P" "moodle"

CVSROOT=:pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/moodle

cvs [checkout aborted]: connect to cvs.sourceforge.net:2401 failed: No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

Error, CVS operation failed

CVS isnt working for me either.
I followed the Windows instructions with many variations:

Copy this text into the CVSROOT field: :pserver:anonymous@cvs.sourceforge.net:/cvsroot/moodle
Under the "Module" fields, type "moodle" to get moodle, "contrib" to get the contrib directory, or "mysql" to get the MySQL Admin module.

For the STABLE version, click on the "Revision" tab and then check the radio button labelled "Choose branch or tag". From the drop-down menu select MOODLE_14_STABLE.
For the latest UNSTABLE development version, the radio-button "Use HEAD branch" in the Revision tab should be checked.

Press the button: "OK" and everything should be downloaded.

For 1, I took out the ":" at the beginning, as well as OKed it w/ the colon and w/out the colon it prompted me for a password twice. It doesnt matter if I enter "" nothing or "moodle", it still diconnects me.

For 2 I clicked "choose branch or tag" and TYPED IN MOODLE_14_STABLE - it wasnt in the dropdown list like the instructions say, and no connection.
Then I chose "Use HEAD branch" and still nothing.

Obviously, from all the other comments, the CVS feature for windows is not working. Does it work for anyone who has a recent release running? Mine is 1.4
