Hi

I'm sure that I must be missing something obvious, but, how do I increase the number of discussion topics displayed on a social format course page. At the moment only 10 will display at a time.

My school uses this type of course to facilitate teacher announcements to students with students able to respond by replying and discussing. But, we have 20-25 announcements per day and therefore half of all the topics posted on a single day will drop off the course page.

What can I do to increase the number of topics/ discussions displaying before they needing to click on older discussions?

Using Moodle 1.9.5. Thanks in advance.

You can do this by editing the course settings.

  • Select Courses.
  • Select Add/edit courses.
  • Select the settings icon next to the course (pencil and paper icon).
  • Scroll down to Number of weeks/topics.
  • Select from the drop down menu.

Thanks, but this does not work for a social format course. Whatever number I set the Number of topics/ weeks too the course will only display 10 most recent discussions.

I am assuming that I will need to dive into the code but need pointing to the correct location for this setting.
