I am working with teachers that are new to Moodle (as am I). We have setup a test server on which to experiment/explore.
We need to create some fictitious teachers and students in our test courses, and we would like to be able to disable the requirement for new users (created by us) to have an email address, city, etc.
We just want some names to enrol in courses, etc.
I read a forum post that described editing the user>edit.php file in v1.8, but these instructions don't seem to be applicable to the same file in v 1.9.
Is there a GIU way of achieving this? If not, could someone share any other options to change these new-user requirements in v1.9 (especially the email requirement!)
