Setting up moodle as an "enterprise" CMS

Setting up moodle as an "enterprise" CMS

Hi all,

I'm trying to get a better conceptual grasp on how moodle handles some of the tasks we need to do to bring it to our campus.  Just got moodle 1.4.3 installed a week ago.

1) authentication : LDAP is working.  This was really cool.

2) course creation : It's not clear to me on how to create an entire term's course catalog from our registrar's data.  I'm thinking an automatic creation of 700 course sites in a term, populating as many moodle fields as possible from an external db query.

3) course enrollment : I've got it pointing to our enrollment table, but I'm not sure how to make it "happen."  Will it happen with the next cron?  It looks that would be the case.

If there were some collected documentation on these sorts of things I think a lot of small colleges (like mine) would try moodle out -- a cookbook of sorts for enterprise configuration.

Any URLs or post references would be most appreciated,
Scott
