I have tried to find out solution for above from 'old threads'. But i couldn't get.
1) i want to give alignment to my Para (actually, it is long essay).
'ALIGNMENT' - only i mean
give some 'space' at starting to every paragraph. ----------Nothing Else.
2)For every para within long essay, Options in drop down menu should be 'Different and Isolated'
Para 1- i should assign Options ONLY for para1
Para 2- i should assign Options ONLY for para2.
Para 3- i should assign Options ONLY for para3
Jcloze consist of Para1+para2+Para3
I think, you can understand.
I'm not completely sure I understand what you're trying to do, but might you want to use a table? Something like this
|menu 1||paragraph 1 paragraph 1paragraph 1paragraph 1paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1paragraph 1paragraph 1paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1paragraph 1 paragraph 1paragraph 1paragraph 1paragraph 1 paragraph 1 paragraph 1|
|menu 2||paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2 paragraph 2|
|menu 3||paragraph 3 paragraph 3 paragraph 3 paragraph 3 paragraph 3 paragraph 3 paragraph 3 paragraph 3 paragraph 3 paragraph 3 paragraph 3 paragraph 3|
To do this: While you are in hotpotatoes JCloze, insert the html code for tables: <table>
<tr> <td> menu1 </td> <td> paragraph 1</td> </tr>
I've attached a jcloze file in which I do a simple version of this.
Also, am I correct to understand you would like each menu to be different for each paragraph? That can't be done in the hotpotatoes program itself, but can be done if you edit the html file that hotpotatoes produces.
Once you've created an html with hotpotatoes, then open it with a text editor and find the list of options for each menus. It will read roughly like this:
<option value=""></option><option value="choice1">choice1</option>
For each menu you can create its own menu. I've attached an htm where I've done this.

Yes very right.
Health is wealth:
(Menu for para:1, spirits, health fails, impossible, safeguard)
Para1: As the saying goes 'Health is wealth' and nothing rings more true. If one is in good health and (spirits) then one is capable of achieving almost anything in life. However if ones (health fails) then ail is lost and even the most easy task seems impossible. It is for this reason that we are almost always advised to safeguard our health and take good care of our body.
(Menu for para:2, careful attention, good health, maximum)
Good health must never be taken for granted and one must always pay (careful attention) to what the body needs. It is then that one can put (good health) to (maximum) use and turn health into wealth. Where there is good health every other good thing that life has to offer follows close to the heels.
I opened 'paragraphs.jcl' file with HP- jcloze.
Para1 has menu 'choice1'
Para2 has menu 'choice2'
but i want separate menu for Para1 and Para2.
I want maintain small space before para1 and para2.
I am new to moodle.
If you open the html file with a text editor, you can find the code for each menu and adapt them as you want. Delete the menu items that you don't want; add any new ones that are suitable. The code that you want to edit is in magenta here.
Thanks for Response.
I am not tech person but want to become technical person.
So, i require some time to understand it properly.
It can happen, this is important for me.
Thanks again Claude.
Do you want to create something like this?
You may want to use Michael Rottmeier's modified JCloze which allows you to specify the dropdown options per each gap, without editing the html, which will be easier for a novice to HotPotatoes.
I'm sending the source files (sorry Michael for distributing these) in a separate email to you. Read the installation instructions in the pdf in the archive to install the scripts and create your exercises.
You may want to visit my taxonomy for more possibilities of HotPotatoes:
Very very right.
And you can also create a Rottmeier quiz by creating a ".jcl" file using JCloze, using that file as the "Source file" for a HotPot activity, and settting the the "Output format" to "JCloze Rottmeier Dropdown".
Thank for your info!
