Recent blog comments block?

Recent blog comments block?

Is there any block for displaying blog comments?

With the advent of 2.0 our staff and students are happily blogging and commenting on each other's blog items, but it is hard to see when someone has commented on your post (or any post). You have to go through each post and see what new comments there may be on them.

Also, it's a lot of work for anyone with a moderator role to go through comments and delete any inappropriate comments.

Therefore, it would be great if there was a "Recent blog comments" block that would display a configurable number of the most recent blog comments by any user on the site:

"John Doe commented on New Study Hall Rules."

One way to implement this (if it hasn't already, though I did a search and found nothing) would be by enabling RSS for blog comments as well as blog posts and then just use an instance of the already existing RSS block.

Hi Tom - have you or anyone else figured out a solution or a work-around for this? We have students commenting on each others blogs but there is no way for them or the teacher to be notified of comment activity either personally or for a course set of blog entries. An RSS feed for comments would seem to be the obvious option.

Cheers
