Can anyone advise me of the amount of time delay between uploading a site and it being available on the Mooch Community Hub.
I believe the delay is due to the site administrator needing to approve the new site...is this true...and how can a contact the site administrator?
I check for new courses on MOOCH daily. Lately, we have had a number of 'test only' courses, which we are reluctant to publish to avoid clogging up Mooch with courses marked 'Test' and having eg. one forum and one label.
In some cases, I have sent a message to the course creator that their 'test' course made it to MOOCH but we'll delete it unless they reply.
Is there a particular course you are asking about? Happy to check for you.
I am presenting a MOODLE Chemistry course to other teachers from around Victoria, Australia...today....and I was trying to upload my course so they could see it in action and download it from their schools if they wished.
We will now access STAV VCE Unit 3 Chemistry 2011 and STAV VCE Unit 1 Chemistry 2011 directly from our schools server for the conference rather than MOOCH.
I would like the sites available for download later however. Can you help?
This is a non commercial project with the aim of sharing with ither teachers.
I have just checked - no such course has 'landed' on MOOCH, sorry mate
Couple of things, excuse if it sounds like telling you how to suck eggs (not intended, I assure you):
- Is your site registered to publish on MOOCH? If not, you/your Moodle Admin will need to do so.
- You can either advertise courses on MOOCH (or any hub your site is connected to for that matter) or share courses. 'Advertise' means people can enroll in your course, 'share' means they need to download it to their site as a backup and restore it (they need Moodle 2 for that too)
Good luck, see personal message too.
Thanks for sharing this great infirmation..
How often are courses approved and listed on MOOCH? Is there a size limit for accepted courses?
I published a course to MOOCH yesterday (Math 1050), but it is still showing as 'not listed'. I am not sure on how long it takes for a course to show as 'listed'
Our school releases creative commons licensed versions of most of our high school courses. We just upgraded to Moodle 2 and I was looking forward to being able to now post the courses (about 60 of them) in MOOCH, available for download.
I just want to confirm that MOOCH is active and available for me to post courses and if there was a size limit on courses that I post?

Sarah, that is really great that you are abe to share those courses.
Yes MOOCH is most certainly active, and I think the size limit is very high (around 250M, but please let me know if you have any problems).
New uploads get manually checked by human beings for Bad Things (viruses, porn, advertising etc) so it can take a little while, but rest assured it will get through. Once we trust you the process is streamlined for future uploads.
Thanks for sharing your course on MOOCH.
Regarding how long it takes for courses to be approved and listed on MOOCH, our aim is to do so within 48 hours, though it can sometimes take a little longer. I just added the info to the MOOCH FAQ as no doubt you're not the only person wondering about it!
