I'm teaching on second grade in Finland (at a business college).
Two very important part of our degree education are On-the-job learning (in finnish: työssäoppiminen) and Skills
demonstrations (in finnish: näytöt). The former has been in practise for years, and the latter is in pilot phase at the moment.
The terms in short:
On-the-job learning has superseded 'training' by adding more precise tasks, goals, control, guiding etc.
Skills demonstrations will be an important part of evaluation, and in many cases these demonstrations will take place during On-the-job learning periods.
At our school we are running phpGroupWare, and bought a module for on-the-job learning from a software vendor. We are considering a move to Moodle, and I was wondering if anyone has ported a module from eGroupWare or phpGroupWare to Moodle? Any tips? The chances are (if we move to moodle) that I'll buy the port from the software vendor or will do it myself.
I might start working on a module for Skills tests, but this is not for sure, It's possible that this will be integrated into our evaluation software.
What do you exacltly want to do? I know a sofware called authorware which lets you teach people via instructions. Look at aware.com.
