I understand the idea of enrolment duration and the expiry notification. But, how does Moodle carry out the unenrolment and notification? Is it done using a cron job?
And I forgot to mention its Moodle v1.9.
Exactly! It's part of the regular Moodle cron job execution (the unenrolment, I'm not sure Moodle notifies users that they have been unenroled).
