import problem with questions in lesson activity

Trying to import gift_maker2 file in order to populate a series of lesson question pages. Import works just fine when I import to Question Bank, but if I try to import file directly to question page in a lesson (at the bottom of the page in the edit view), the questions show up with no answers. Can someone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

also, is there a way to mass delete questions from a lesson after they've been imported (incorrectly, without answers). Deleting them from question bank doesn't seem to do the trick.

Unfortunately you do not say which type of questions your GIFT file contains. Please attach your GIFT file to your reply so we can examine it and see the problem and provide an answer.

Hi Katie,

You forgot to mention that you were using Moodle 2.0. The import questions from GIFT or Moodle XML  feature works OK in Moodle 1.9.x.

In Moodle 2.0 there is definitely a bug.trist I will investigate and post the bug reference here ASAP. Thanks for reporting the problem.

Question #2.

The Quiz Questions bank is totally independant from the Lesson activity. There is no question bank for the Lesson activity, only for the Quiz activity. There have been plans in the past to make the Moodle Questions bank available to the Lesson activity but these plans have never been realized.

I'm afraid you'll have to remove questions one by one in your Lesson activity.

I am using moodle 1.9.10.

i can't import number questions at a time.
only one question import at a time.

One message appear, i can't understand meaning. (screenshot)

All questions are gift supported.


I was surprise
when all question were imported at a time,on my desktop version.

Please provide more details about the type of questions you are trying to import into your Lesson instance. If you could attach to your reply the file which you are trying to import it would be much easier for us to understand your problem and suggest a solution.

I am getting idea about importing questions to lesson.
some points i want to put here

1) basically it is problem for matching question - which has less than '4 pair'.
( therefore message- Not enough sub questions have been defined !
Do you want to go back and fix this question ? )
Am i right?

2)in my question bank, there are 'Vertical Matching' type questions
(therefore message - Unsupported question type (category)! )
Am i right?

What do i want now?

it will import all questions other than above i.e.
(Matching less than '4 pair' and unsupported question type.
No problem. i can manage it afterward)

What is happen Now?
(if there 40 questions with matching pair question 2
then it import only 2 questions with problematic features
Where are remaining 38 questions)

Joseph i am making experiment over this lesson module.
if i found any other information, i will report you.
this is very interesting module

Which has "Vertical type Que. and Matching Que.(less than 4 pairs)".

I think These are making Problem.

What We want Now?

When importing Questions to Lesson Activity,
That time it ignore "that type of Question".
Remaining Questions must be import properly. But How it will be happen?


Now what we are doing?
We move Questions other than"above type" to other Category.
Then Export.

Then import to Lesson

Plz. Suggest possible tricks.
