Okay, now I love the concept of giving a Moodle score to students, as shown by Mr Lewis Carr here: http://moodle.org/mod/data/view.php?d=13&rid=967#
The plus side is that it can make students more competitive - like in a video game where each tries to outdo each other my getting the highest score.
The closest I have to that is the Most Active User block.

However, since I don't know how to configure my cron to run regularly, I have to click the "Update Statistics" button every now and then.
Has anyone in the Moodle Universe managed to do something like what Lewis Carr has done with his XBox-like stats block? If yes, I would love to hear what you have done and how you did it.
