We have an online course that uses the certificate module which is working great.
However, I had a call from a student who could not print off her certificate. Turns out she had set her language to French Canadian.
After asking her to change her language setting back to English she could view her certificate.
Has anyone else had this issue?

this way it can´t work; certificate module has his own lang strings (till now: en, es, it, de, pt_br, ro) there isn´t translation for French Canadian yet!
But it´s easy: do it yourself, translate 'certificate.php' of lang folder to French Canadian, create your own lang folder: fr_ca_utf8 (and then share to others).
In this forum there are lot of people looking for French translation.

Yes, it would have been nice if the certificate module for Moodle 1.9 supported French for the language strings, especially for those of us developing in Canada

I'm having a problem, also My certificates always use en language.
I use Moodle's language pt_pt, so, I created a pt_pt folder inside lang directory, adapted the pt_br file, and put it there. Should I do anything else?

The folder should be named pt , not pt_pt!
